Apricot Bars

I just love apricots, but they are best in some kind of dessert.
Besides, I feel justified in eating them because they are loaded with Vitamin A.

1/2 cups butter
1 cup flour
1/4 cups sugar
1/2 cups chopped walnuts

Mix and place in a buttered 8×8 pan.
Bake at 350 until lightly browned.

Prepare the apricots by boiling  for 15 minutes, then draining and chopping.

2/3 cups dried apricots
1 cup light brown sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

Combine these ingredients and place over the baked crust.
Bake for 25-30 minutes at 350.
Cut into squares when cool.
