Don’t ask me why they call these Funeral Sandwiches—that doesn’t make much sense. But many people have raved about these, so it might be fun to give them a try:
1.5 pounds ham deli meat, thinly sliced
.5 pounds Lorraine Swiss Cheese
24 small hamburger buns (the little ones)
2 sticks butter
4 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons mustard
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
Assemble ham and cheese inside each bun.
Marinade with sauce and cover.
Refrigerate no less than 4 hours. Overnight is preferable.
Bake at 450 degrees covered for 25 minutes.
